Atlanta's geography is famously nicknamed 'The City in a Forest' because its massive, sprawling, car-centric midwestern-style grids are overwhelmingly buried under a dense canopy of old-growth trees. It lacks a major river or ocean boundary, meaning the map expands relentlessly outward in all directions across the rolling hills of the Georgia Piedmont.
Atlanta on the map
A custom map poster of Atlanta, United States turns a meaningful location into personalized wall art — completely free with MapPoster.
The urban core is spectacularly anchored by the massive intersections of the sweeping interstate highways (the Downtown Connector) violently carving through the trees. A poster capturing this dense, wooded sprawl violently severed by concrete arteries is distinctly American. Rich forest greens, warm southern peach tones, or stark concrete greys perfectly honor this undeniable cultural capital of the South.
