Absolutely. The text overlay editor lets you change the city name, add a subtitle, include GPS coordinates, or write any custom text. You can also adjust the font, size, position, and background style of the overlay to match your interior.
Premium downloads made with an artistic theme may be used personally and for limited commercial purposes, such as decorating your business premises, a gift to a client or illustrating a single post or article. Selling posters, or products that show them, needs the Commercial Use Licence that comes with the MapPoster API's Starter, Pro and Business plans. Free (watermarked) downloads, and posters made with the map-tile styles Classic Street and Satellite View, are for personal use only. Every poster carries its map credit, which must stay on it. Details are in section 3 of the Terms of Service.
No. A premium download is 7200 pixels on every device. A computer makes it in the browser; a phone or tablet can't draw a map that large, so our server makes its file at the same full size after payment. The free 1080p download is the same on all devices.
Just refresh the page — a banner at the top of the site will give you instant access to your paid file at no extra charge, valid for 24 hours after purchase. If you still need help, email us at [email protected] with the order details from your receipt and we'll resend it right away.
Yes. Add the MapPoster connector to Claude at mapposter.xyz/claude and describe the poster you want: the place, the occasion and the text, such as where you met as an anniversary gift. Claude designs it in the chat, where you can try other styles, download it, or open it in the MapPoster editor to fine-tune it and order a print. In ChatGPT, add the MapPoster plugin from ChatGPT's plugin directory and ask the same way. No account is needed.
Ready to design your map poster?
A map poster is a piece of wall art that shows the street layout, waterways, and geography of a specific location, designed as a high-resolution print you can frame. A custom map poster transforms a meaningful place, the city where you grew up, the street where you had your first apartment, or the coastline where you got engaged, into a personalized design. Every place carries a story. MapPoster turns those stories into beautifully designed, print-ready files you can download instantly and display in your home.
Unlike generic wall art, a map poster is deeply personal. It captures the exact layout of streets, parks, rivers, and neighborhoods that matter to you. Every intersection, waterfront, and green space tells part of your story. That's what makes map posters such popular gifts for weddings, housewarmings, anniversaries, and birthdays, they carry emotional weight that mass-produced prints simply cannot match.
MapPoster uses high-precision geographic data from OpenStreetMap, the world's most comprehensive open mapping database maintained by a global community of contributors. You search for any location on Earth, then customize every visual detail: choose from curated color themes or create your own, adjust the zoom and framing, add text overlays with city names, coordinates, or personal messages, and fine-tune road colors, water tones, and park shading to match your interior.
When you're happy with your design, export it as a print-ready image at high resolution (7200 pixels, on any device). The result is sharp enough for printing up to 18 × 24 inches (or A2 paper) at 300 DPI, the standard used by professional print shops. Or skip the file and order the poster printed: we print it at 300 DPI and ship it to you, or straight to the person it's for, in 20 countries.
You can design and preview unlimited posters without paying or signing up. When you're ready, there are three options: a 1080p download with a small watermark (free), a clean high-resolution print-ready file for $6.99, or a printed poster from $24.99, framed or on canvas too, with shipping included. One-time, no subscription. Designing happens in your browser, so your data stays private; a design only reaches our servers to make a file for you (a print, or a phone's high-resolution download).
