About Florence
Florence is intimately and historically bound to the Arno River, which cuts a sharp, winding, surprisingly narrow path directly through the ancient heart of the Renaissance. The map reveals an incredible density of terracotta roofs, but the street layout itself is a chaotic, layered puzzle of perfectly straight ancient Roman camps completely overgrown by twisting, dark medieval alleys.
