About Nashville
Nashville’s layout is deeply intertwined with the sinuous, winding path of the Cumberland River as it cuts through the rolling, green hills of the Nashville Basin. The city’s core doesn’t rely on a strict, punishing grid, but instead features major historic pikes stretching outwards from the downtown center like spokes on a wheel, completely dictated by the hills.
